Sometimes you have to do what your gut tells you. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Alan David’s gut seemed to have subconsciously said, “Hey, you need to work in the performing arts!” Although, he didn’t realize this until he was 23.
As a child Alan attended a small private grade school where, after being in the obligatory 6th grade play, he told his mother that he wanted to be an actor. This was dismissed as nothing but ‘a cute idea’ given Alan’s youthful composition (he also told people he wanted to be a priest) and was soon forgotten.
Later he attended a small private high school; never fully understanding the opportunities that his parents had laid out for him, albeit their economic status. He pursued one of his passions as a visual artist, soaking in as much knowledge as he could in the field and not letting anyone know that deep down what he really wanted was to perform. It wasn’t until years after college when he was sitting in an office thinking to himself, “What am I doing with myself?” when he received an email from his mother which would ultimately change his life.
Alan continues to work and train both for film and theater and has performed with a myriad of production companies all throughout the St. Louis area, ranging from community theater and student film to full length features and professional theater. He has appeared on television, print, commercial, website, & industrial ads as well.
